Seeing that regular wind turbines produce electricity at a rate of about 20 to 25%, Magenn Power thought of an air-floating wind turbine that would revolutionize the way these energy machines are made.

While there’s no Hancock to save the world from global warming, I guess we have to do that ourselves. We try and try, struggle

The use of wind power has been around for centuries, from the simple sail to the sophisticated windmills. The inconvenience of harvesting wind energy is that most of wind-farm sites are placed far away from the areas that need the power.

The Dutch never stopped their work on wind turbines, and that’s because Holland is a very windy country. Wind energy will probably be harnessed as well from Tromp Binnen offshore wind farm whose plans have been submitted by RWE to the Dutch Public Works and Water Management Authority. The plans will first be assessed for [...]

People found various ways to harvest the energy that nature provides. But why not combine these to obtain a larger output of power?
This theory is going to be put into practice this year, by attaching a machine such as the Ocean Treader to an Offshore Wind Turbine, to create a full size prototype named the [...]

To support what I’ve been saying earlier about Flodesign’s wind turbine, here’s one example of what happens when there’s too much wind speed on the turbine:

In the desert of Sahara, in North Africa, a solar farm has been built. The area is slightly smaller than Wales but some scientists said yesterday that it could one day generate enough solar power to supply all of Europe with clean electricity.
The scientists with to create of a series of huge solar farms that [...]

Today I found another DIY project for generating alternative energy, by using the wind. It is a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT), and it works by the same principle those huge wind turbines do, but they are much more easy and less expensive to build.

In this consumerism ruled times, the world needs to know ways to do stuff. When electricity generation is predicted to become more expensive (it’s like they predict an invasion of electric vehicles), people need to build their own power generating systems for their independence.Faroun, a user from Instructables.com, has submitted a simple video showing how [...]

Denmark has a problem. When you’re not like the whole crowd you come from, you’re different and you want to stand up, then you have a problem. Denmark produces a lot more electricity from wind farms than it can consume. In fact, they even want to sell it to Germany and other countries at a [...]

Japanese scientists explore the usefulness of clean-tech energy generators that are floating on the sea as a source of energy for the whole country, announced a Japanese newspaper.
The environmentally-friendly generators from the sea will be immense power plants on top of which will be mounted photovoltaic generators and wind turbines that will generate as much [...]
